Indiana Dunes, May 22

Once again we began the season with a trip to the dunes. We picked a day with unlimited sunshine, but sacrificed on heat. We think it worked out. On our hike through the dunes when we came to the lake we had to stick our feet in. Both my thermometer and our bodies told us that the Lake was 62 degrees. But with air temperature 53 and a strong wind off the lake we chose not to go in much past our ankles. After we completed the hike we set up our beach chairs in the shelter of some small dunes but exposed to the sun. We soon were quite warm. Noticing some girls in the water we decided we must be wimps so we got our suits and went in for a dip. Only a dip, but we can say we have been in the lake.
